Il Truciolo started up the new Waste division at the beginning of 2008, addressed to companies that need to dispose of their assimilable municipal solid waste, also dealing with its intermediation and transport.
The recovery activity consists of the production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF/CSS) or secondary solid fuel (SSF/CDR) complying with the UNI CEN/TS 15359 and subsequent amendments and additions technical standards, obtained through processing cycles of industrial waste assimilable to municipal solid waste consisting of separation, treatment, crushing, screening and refining of waste, thus ensuring the end product an adequate calorific value.
The CSS/CDR, translation of the English acronym RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel), is a dry shredded solid fuel obtained from waste treatment by eliminating non-combustible materials (glass, metals, aggregates) and wet waste (organic matter such as food waste ).
The CSS/CDR, thus recovered from non-hazardous municipal solid waste and non-hazardous special industrial waste, undergoes different phases aimed at ensuring a high calorific value, reducing and controlling the environmental health risk and reducing the presence of metallic materials inadequate for combustion. In fact, the product is used for thermal combustion in special plants producing thermal and/or electrical energy.
This material can be an excellent fuel for cement plants, economically advantageous compared to traditional fuel. For the production of CDR/CSS we use high-quality, technologically advanced machinery, built to offer a high shredding capacity and flexibility as regards the materials to be shredded.
Our company has always been very sensitive to the environment, which is why our machinery is equipped with “HI-TORQUE” engines that ensure more energy savings, high efficiency and increased production.
Non-recoverable waste is pressed and packaged in order to optimise volumes and reduce as much as possible the space that will be occupied upon disposal at landfills. With the aim of improving its environmental performance, the storage centre has the capacity to treat up to 80,000 tons/year of waste for disposal and/or recovery.
The companies that turn to us for the recovery of wood, or the disposal of waste material, and opt for a global waste management service benefit from an optimisation of execution time and consequently from substantial cost savings.
Our specialised staff is always available to provide our customers with assistance regarding environmental protection, the management system, laboratory testing and waste approval, the management of the waste loading/unloading registers, as well as the preparation of MUD/ORSO declarations (Single Environmental Declaration Form and Supra-regional Waste Monitoring Centre declaration) and the disposal of bulky waste.
Relying on our Waste division means to benefit from the same quality standards that have enabled us to become a leader in the collection, recovery and disposal of wood waste.
